Ek taraf Internet ka istemaal tezi se badh raha hai to doosri taraf banking system bhi ab online hota jaa raha hai. Agar Internet jaisi technology humaare paas nahi hoti to shayad aaj ke samay mein humen kaafi mushkilon ka saamna karna padta. Internet ke hone se humen ab har kaam mein suvidha milti hai. Internet ke hone se hi aaj hum online banking sevaon ka laabh le paa rahe hain, nahi to humen aaj bhi bankon ke chakkar kaatne padte.
online banking se hum apne bank account ko control aur manage kar paate hain, jisse ki humen online kisi bhi tarah ke transactions ki suvidha milti hai. Aaj ke time mein log cash dene ke bajaye online payment karna zyada pasand karte hain. Waise to online payment system kai saare hain jaise NEFT, RTGS, IMPS jinki madad se hum apne bank account se kisi bhi doosre bank account mein paise transfer kar sakte hain. Lekin NEFT, RTGS, aur IMPS jaise online payment system ab puraane ho chuke hain, aur ab inki jagah par UPI ko laaya gya hai. Aaj ke time mein online payment ke liye sabse zyada UPI ka istemaal kiya jaa raha hai, aur ab yeh sabhi online payment system ka vikalp ban chuka hai.
Is post mein hum UPI ke baare mein hi jaanenge ki UPI kya hai? aur UPI kaise kaam karta hai?

What is UPI?

UPI ek tarah ka online payment system hai, yeh National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) dwara banaya gya hai aur Reserve Bank of India (RBI) dwara sanchalit kiya jaa raha hai.
UPI ka full form Unified Payments Interface hai, UPI online payment ka ek aisa system hai jiski madad se hum kai saare bank accounts ko ek hi mobile application mein laa sakte hain, aur isse humen alag-alag tarah ke banking features milte hain.
UPI ek aisa online payment system jiske zariye aap turant online paise transfer kar sakte hain.
UPI ka istemaal karke hum desh bhar mein apne bank account se kisi doosre ke bank account mein paise bhej sakte hain.
UPI ki madad se hum alag-alag tarah ke online payment kar sakte hain. Aaj ke time mein India ke andar online payment ke liye sabse zyada UPI ka istemaal kiya jaa raha hai, isse hum shopes/stores par bhi payment karte hain, utility bills ke payment ke liye bhi istemaal karte hain, ticket khareedne se lekar mobile recharge aur taxi ke keraaye tak ka payment ab UPI dwara hi kiya jaata hai.
UPI se 24*7 ghante aur 365 din desh bhar mein kahin bhi kisi ko bhi paise transfer kiye jaa sakte hain.
UPI payment system, Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) par aadharit hai. Jaise hum IMPS ke zariye turant kisi ke bank account mein paise transfer karte hain waise hi hum UPI ke zariye bhi turant paise transfer kar sakte hain. EK tarah se UPI ko hum IMPS ka ek upgraded version kah sakte hain.
Lekin ab sawaal yeh paida hoga ki agar UPI, IMPS ka hi upgraded version hai to isko UPI naam dene ki kya zaroorat hai? ya phir humen UPI ki zaroorat hi kya hai jab IMPS bhi UPI ki tarah hi kaam karta hai?
To iska jawab yeh hoga ki UPI bhale hi IMPS ka upgraded version kahlata ho ya IMPS ki tarah UPI se bhi fauran paise transfer ho jaate hon lekin phir bhi UPI, IMPS se alag hai aur IMPS se behtar bhi hai.
UPI aur IMPS mein similarities (samaantayen) yeh hain ki jaise hum IMPS ki madad se 24*7 ghante 365 din hum kabhi bhi desh bhar mein apne bank account kisi bhi doosre bank account mein paise transfer kar sakte hain waise hi UPI ke zariye bhi 24*7 ghante 365 din kabhi bhi apne bank account se kisi doosre bank account mein paise bhej sakte hain.
Lekin UPI aur IMPS mein similarities ke alawa dono mein differences (fark) bhi hain.
IMPS ke zariye paise transfer karne ke liye humen payee/beneficiary ke account details ki zaroorat padti hai. Jab humen IMPS se paise transfer karne karne hote hain to jiske bank account mein paise transfer kar rahe hote hain uske bank account ki details deni hoti hai jaise Account Number, Beneficiary Name, Bank Name, IFSC ityadi.
Lekin jab hum UPI dwara paise transfer karte hain to humen kisi bhi tarah ke bank account details ki zaroorat nahi padti hai, inki jagah par humen keval ek Virtual Payment Address (VPA) ka istemaal karna hota hai. VPA ki madad se hum UPI dwara kisi bhi bank account se kisi bhi doosre bank account mein paise transfer karte hain.
Yaani ki UPI se jab humen kisi ko paise bhejne hote hain to humen jisko paise bhejne hain uske bank account ki detalis jaise Account Number, Bank Name, Beneficiary Name, IFSC ityadi ki zaroorat nahi hoti hai balki sirf ek VPA jo ki ek tarah ki Payment ID hoti hai uski zaroorat hoti hai, aur VPA ka istemaal karke hum UPI dwara paise transfer kar sakte hain.
UPI ab tak ka sabse tez online payment system hai, UPI se turant paise transfer kiye jaa sakte hain. UPI 365 din 24*7 ghante kaam karta hai aur aap jab chahen UPI dwara paise transfer kar sakte hain. UPI se maximum ek bar mein 1 lakh  ka transaction kiya jaa sakta hai aur per transaction ki fees 00.50 ₹ hoti hai.

How UPI Works?

UPI ke liye kai saare apps banaye gaye hain jo Android OS ke Google Play Store aur iPhone OS ke App Store mein moujood hain.
UPI, mobile application dwara kaam karta hai, UPI ka istemaal karne ke liye sabse pehle humen Google Play Store se ek UPI app apne phone mein install karna hota hai.
UPI app phone mein install karne ke baad humen us app ke liye registration karna padta hai, aur iske liye humen kuch details jaise Name, Mobile Number, VPA aur Password enter karke apni profile banani hoti hai.
Profile banane ke baad humen apna bank account add/link karna hota hai, iske liye hum apne mobile number aur Debit Card ka istemaal karte hain. Ek bar jab hum apni profile banakar bank account add/link kar dete hain to registration process complete ho jaata hai aur uske baad hum UPI ka istemaal karke kisi bhi doosre bank account mein paise transfer kar sakte hain aur online payment bhi kar sakte hain.
UPI se paise bhejne aur recieve karne ke liye Virtual Payment Address (VPA) ka istemaal hota hai. UPI, VPA ke zariye kaam karta hai jo ki ek tarah ki Payment ID hoti hai, UPI dwara paise transfer karne ya recieve karne ke liye sirf ek VPA (Payment ID) ki zaroorat hoti hai.
UPI se paise bhejne ya recieve karne ke liye humen account details jaise Account Number, Beneficiary Name, Bank Name, IFSC etc. ki zaroorat nahi padti hai balki sirf VPA ka istemaal hota hai. VPA hone se humen Account Number, Bank Name, Beneficiary Name, IFC jaisi details ki zaroorat hi nahi padti hai, keval ek VPA se hum kisi ko bhi uske bank account mein paise transfer kar sakte hain aur isi tarah VPA se hum paise recieve bhi kar sakte hain.
Jaise ki agar humen UPI ke zariye apne dost ko paise bhejne hon to humen usse uske bank details jaise Account Number, Bank Name, IFSC waghaira maangne ki zaroorat nahi hogi sirf ek VPA (Payment ID) maangni hogi aur usse hum apne dost ke bank account mein paise transfer kar sakte hain. VPA (Payment ID) kuch bhi ho sakti hai yeh bilkul ek email ID ki tarah bhi hoti hai jaise abcdefg@oksbi ya abcdefgh@okhdfcbank.

Aaj ke time bahut se bade banks ke paas apne khud ke UPI Apps hain jaise:
  • 1 State Bank of India: SBI  Pay
  • 2 ICICI Bank: iMobile
  • 3 HDFC: HDFC Bank MobileBanking
  • 4 Andhra Bank: Andhra Bank ONE
  • 5 Axis Bank: Axis Pay
  • 6 Bank of Maharashtra: MahaUPI
  • 7 Canara Bank: Canara Bank UPI – Empower
  • 8 Punjab National Bank: PNB UPI
  • 9 Union Bank of India: Union Bank UPI
Iske alawa bhi bahut se UPI Apps Google Play Store aur iOS App Store mein moujood hain. Agar aap UPI dwara online paise bhejna chahte hain ya payment karna chahte hain to aapko UPI app apne phone mein install karna hoga aur uske baad aapko us app ke liye registration karna hoga. Registration ke baad jab aap apna bank us app mein add/link kar lenge to aap UPI ka istemaal karke doosre bank account mein pasie bhi transfer kar sakte hain aur sath hi aap isse kai tarah ke online payments bhi kar sakte hain.
UPI se hum keval VPA dwara hi payment nahi karte hain balki QR Code Scane karke bhi UPI dwara payment kiya jaata hai jo ki aapne aksar stores par dekhe honge.
Jahan bhi hum online payment karte hain chahe electricity bill ho, water bill ho, gas ka bill ho, ticket booking ho, insurance ka premium ho ya aur bhi kisi bhi tarah ka online bill jo hum UPI app dwara pay karte hain in sabhi ke paas ek apna VPA (Payment ID) hota hai jiski madad se hum unko paise transfer karte hain aur woh paise humare bank account se unke bank account mein jaate hain aur is tarah se humara payment successful hota hai.
UPI se paise transfer hone mein bilkul bhi samay nahi lagta hai jaise hi aap kisi ka VPA enter karke paise transfer karte hain woh paise turant hi aapke account se debit hokar jisko aap paise bhejte hain uske account mein credit ho jaate hain. Lekin technical issue ki wajah se kabhi-kabhi amount pending mein bhi jaa sakta hai halanki aisa bahut kam hota hai.
UPI ki security aur safety ki baat karen to UPI ke zariye paise bhejne ke liye authentication hota hai jo ki UPI PIN dwara kiya jaata hai.

How to Perform a UPI Transaction?

  • UPI dwara paise bhejne ke liye sabse pehle user ko UPI app mein login hona padega.
  • UPI app mein login hone ke baad user ko Send Money/Payment option select karna hoga.
  • Iske baad user ko benificiary/payee ka VPA (Payment ID) enter karna hota hai.
